Meet Stephanie Alvarez
B.F.A. in Fashion Marketing and Design

Stephanie Alvarez, an L.A. native, was inspired by her fashion-designer father, Jose. For years, she would watch him create beautiful pieces of art on fabric, and he would teach her basic fashion design skills.

Growing up, Stephanie's dream was to become a model so she enrolled in modeling school. Her experience working in fashion shows sparked her passion for design and led her to create her own, original "sweet sixteen" dress.

After high school, she enrolled at American InterContinental University, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design and Marketing. While earning her degree she had the opportunity to work in couture shows for such renowned designers as Chanel and Armani.

Stephanie credits AIU with helping her get her foot in the door in the elite fashion industry and make important connections. She also credits AIU's knowledgeable professors for teaching her all the skills necessary to make her designs and ideas come to life.

Stephanie aspires to own her own chain of boutiques catering to fashion-conscious shoppers.
